US Bank threw one heck of a party for its many Puget Sound area branches at the W Hotel. The party had an Oscars theme, complete with a red carpet in the foyer and a Ryan Seacrest type interviewing guests as they arrived, with the interview broadcast into the main ballroom’s large video screens. Special lighting, provided by our own DJ Sean, included our newest battery powered wireless up-lights. Most employees brought their spouses, significant others, and companions and everyone dressed to the nines. An incredible magician, Rubiks Ron, wowed the crowd with an assortment of sleight of hand card tricks.
After a great dinner, a few speeches and an epic raffle with some amazing gifts, the dance party finally kicked into high gear. A group of branch managers got the crowd going with an arranged dance to “Gangnam Style.” Most of the crowd joined in once Icona Pop’s “I Love It” pumped up the ballroom.
Later on, requests flooded DJ Sean, who handled it with ease – Pharrell’s “Happy”, some merengue, old school funk, 90s and early 2000s R&B, classic Hip Hop (“This is How We Do It” being the biggest hit of the night), and Macklemore kept the festivities on a high note. Even when an older banker requested Santana’s “Black Magic Woman”, instead of putting a halt to the high energy level, guests took the time to dance with their partners. They partied hard until the Hotel finally had to shut it down way after the planned midnight ending.
