Kristopher Knutson married Seema Ghosh on a nice spring day in West Seattle at the Hall at Fauntleroy. As you can tell from their names, they come from different cultural backgrounds. Didn’t matter one bit as the families were already close friends and guests also were getting along great. The Hindu ceremony brought so much color to the already lovely outside garden area of the venue, there seemed to be an explosion of flowers and colorful saris. The additional love in the air made for a great day
The long but still touching ceremony ended with a big celebration that didn’t stop until the end of the night. The first dance was to savage Gardens’ “Truly Madly Deeply,” until the couples’ semi-awkward junior high sway turned on a dime when DJ Sean mixed in a version of “Smoke on the Water” by Senior Coconut. Seema and Kris hammed it up, guests laughed, some knowing that this couple wouldn’t do a first dace like it started out. Later on, A Bhangra dance lesson helped some of groom Kristopher’s side of the family get into the Indian grooves mixed in with new pop and 80s and 90s crowd pleasers. The dancing was solid the rest of the night.
