When Amedeo met Rebecca online, they couldn’t have been farther away from each other. Amedeo, living in London, was intrigued by Rebecca, but an American girl living in Ecuador made for a long distance courtship. They met halfway in Miami, and eventually realized they had to be together. A couple years later, with the help of top planner Holly Patton of Perfectly Posh Events, a dream wedding was put together at the idyllic Roche Harbor Resort.
This resort, located in the western part of the San Juan Island chain in very corner of the country, is a little piece of NW paradise. Overlooking a harbor full of yachts and sporting boats big and small, Roche Harbor has a long history with a lime stone quarry and various families that have made it what it is today. Featuring the older Hotel De Haro, along with a variety of condos and suites with different levels of luxury, the resort is a little world onto itself, with a cute little store, four restaurants, a bocce court, and, of course, a great venue for weddings.
The bride and groom were blessed with absolutely gorgeous weather. The day concluded with a scrumptious seafood meal, heartfelt toasts, a break for colors (a cute nightly ceremony where the resort lowers various flags with a song accompanying each and introduces the newlyweds to the community over the loud speaker), and fun dancing.
